Calladine,RE:"ATM losing market share". I need to understand this.
Maybe I am missing something here.
The FCC just announced ATMs are a must for RBOCs.
That means they are a must for any large CLEC. That means
that every Tom,Dick and Harry Telco around the world will
emulate the RBOCs.

So where is ATM losing market share here?

Point #2.

NN has the biggest ,fastest ATM and is 2 years ahead of the next guy, LU.
Everybody else is not even in the competition.

In fact everybody else (NT, CSCO, SIEM, ) had to BUY theirÿ
ATM
( FORE,Stratacom, ASND)ÿ because they had no in-house expertiseÿ to build one .

The companies the bought, ASND, FORE etc., where buildingÿ
tiny, not for the core ATMs, and we saw how they fared down town Chicagoÿ
when MCI shut down for 10 days.

So exactly where is the expertise to build better ATM s
going to come from, all of a sudden, at LU,NT,CSCO, SIEM, etc. etc. etc.?
.
It takes time to do all this. These companies are putting a
lot of effort in optical right now. They thought that was the future.
Instead the FCC now comes in and trips them over.
Now we are back to ATM, and we are just beginning.

So I think the FCC pronouncement was a watershed event in the telco world .
NN is sitting pretty now.ÿ
They haveÿ an unsurpassable lead in ATM IMHO.ÿ
Whoever buys them will become No 1 or N02 in the Telco world.

Selling your NN shares now is the stupidest move one can make.
The best move is to hold at least through Tues PM CC
and then reevaluate.

My best plan is for ALA to buy NN,ÿÿ onÿ a 1 - 1 or 1 to 1 1/2 share ratio,ÿ
then continue to hold through the exchange
and then see ALA double or triple in price over the next year.
I will definitely stop day trading may current shares, and begin toÿ
daytrade the new profits only. ALA+NN should become a futureÿ
core holding. There is no reason ALA could not become a leaderÿ
in optics too with the right investment and direction. Then they can have it all,

TA

ÿÿÿÿ ALA:

ÿÿÿÿ The stuff about ATM and losing market share later is more
ÿÿÿÿ smokescreen. ALA, I am sure are looking at the whole picture of NN and see enough that makes them interested.

ÿÿÿÿ "I can just hear somebody say: "Guys, you are the great leaders in ATM, we love that,(it's the main thing that interests us), but you know as well
ÿÿÿÿ as we, that this lead is temporary and will not last. We can't afford to pay a lot for something that is going to decline in value, even in the
ÿÿÿÿ relatively short term......."

ÿÿÿÿ Best wishes,
