A nice note from Bear Stearns this morning; I like the phrase, "massive array of technology."

<<Intel Corp. (I NTC - $112) Buy Price Target: $135

Charles Boucher - Semiconductor Devices

INTC highlighted several key elements of its technology roadmap during the first day of the Intel Developers Forum (IDF), including microprocessors, platforms, communications, e-business, and more. INTC provided an update on the status of its Itanium 64-bit
microprocessor architecture. It has already shipped over 1000 prototype development systems, several top OEM systems have been powered on and demonstrated, and 6 major operating systems are successfully running. Our confidence that Itanium will ship on time by mid-2000 is stronger. Itanium is key to Intel's continued penetration into the high end server market. The next generation 32-bit architecture, Willamette was discussed and the design guide was released. A Willamette demonstration system running at 1.5 GHz was shown, and INTC affirmed that the processor was on track to launch in the second half of 2000 at speeds greater than 1 GHz, and should ship millions of units in 2001. Willamette is a significantly higher performance architecture than the current Pentium III (Coppermine), and should reestablish INTC's performance leadership in the 32-bit processor market. Several next-generation platform technology issues were discussed, encompassing desktop and mobile PCs, servers, workstations, and information appliances. INTC is investing in essentially every key platform using its microprocessor technology. INTC's growing opportunities in the server market should counterbalance the trend toward declining prices in the mainstream PC market over time. We maintain our positive view on INTC's business growth and its stock. Our overall perception is INTC is developing a massive array of technology to address the various semiconductor opportunities afforded by the Internet. INTC is entering a period of strengthening revenue and earnings growth. We reiterate our Buy rating and $135 12-month target price.>>
