I'm about to get my first laptop, which I plan to use as a desktop replacement with occasional portability. Any suggestions? Also, I'm so sick of slow connections that I am going to get either a cable modem or DSL. I was leaning toward the former, but my *&^%! provider (RCN) makes you use a regular telephone line for the uploads, so I'm now leaning toward the latter. Any suggestions there? ctb/A (who figures the track record on tech support here has to be better than the track record on short-term stock tips...)
