Sorry grampa, I didn't mean to make this confusing.

If you look at the map south of the Luicho project you can see a city called Arequipa ... it is a largish city like some of the others in Peru.

If you follow the pink/purple? line up north from the Luicho project, you will come to a city called Huaraz. Right beside it you can see Pierina (you may need a magnifying class ((or bifocals ;-))).

Pierina was the main property of a company called Arequipa (probably named after the city down south). This company was bought out by Barrick in 1996. From looking at the map, I can definitely say they are not even close ... over 1000kms apart perhaps.
