i believe they restrict your acct (and make you talk to a broker) so that she will do the regT calcs for you.
i don't believe talking to a live broker will let you skirt the rules.

it's called free-riding. i believe that you can trade as much as your opening buying power, but you can't use the gains from a daytrade as buying power.
