Yes, those kind off "off camera" mistakes can seem very eerie, especially when the person still on camera does not even know that they're still on. That is why they always try to tell people in the business to be very careful what you say or do off camera, because you never know when you will still be on!
One very interesting incident happened with Jeanetta Jones of the Weather Channel a few years ago. After a particular segment, they went to the commercials, but Jeanetta did not realize that her microphone was still "open". The tropical weather part of the hour was coming up, and poor Jeanetta was caught arguing with her co-anchor about who was going to do that particular part of the show! It was a riot! She said something like, "No, I don't want to do it, YOU do it!" "I hate analyzing tropical storms and hurricanes." Sometimes I just love human mistakes like that, because it reveals things about the person one would never know otherwise..... Yogi
