Eric:

You somehow got a colon at the end of the linc:

microsoft.com

Linc works better without it.

I still didn't see how many bugs still remain to be fixed in that
p/r release. I guess the main qualification for being the lead p/r
person for the largest company in the world is be evasive. Sort
of like the press secretary for the White House. (:^} Maybe Bill
wants to provide my company with free 2000 software so we could also
say what satisfied customers we are. Give it a rest.

Eric,

This press release from Jim Allchin contains the usual
b.s. you hear from every software project manager on
the planet. It's full of vague statements and half-truths
and it doesn't answer the charge levelled at W2K.

Note that he doesn't say that there are NO bugs, nor
does he say just how many verifiable bugs are present.
In fact, he doesn't quantify anything. Instead he tells
you how hard they're working and how much testing they've
done. Then he blames a code-analyzer for generating
false positives!!!

It looks to me like the market for this product is going
to be underwhelmed until M$FT can prove that it can
compete in the server market with it.
