Yes, that is a totally sad commentary on the world we now find ourselves living in and how people value their relationships!!

It's no wonder there are so many crumbling marriages, when they are built on such mercenary, shallow foundations.

I guess size does matter...the size of the carat, that is!!

Men have really brought this sorry state of affairs upon their own heads, by pandering to spoiled and selfish women. By thinking with another part of their anatomy, instead of their brains!!

However, all females should not all be lumped into this category! There are many who appreciate and value character, honesty and kindness. Albeit, these do not appear to be at the top of the list for many women.

Men deserve what they get, for they look no further than the size of a woman's boobs, her body, a pretty face, how blonde her hair is and make no effort to understand the real person underneath, if there is one!!

When you and I were in our teens and twenties, the same crap obtained. I can remember girls in college satirizing the "big diamond" types by upending an ashtray on their left hands and sneering, "You too can have a rock!"

All women were not like the diamond grubbers then and all women are not like them now. I know that I am not a special case: When my husband asked me to marry him, I knew that he intended to stop working and go to graduate school; I didn't want a ring because the money could be used better toward his education. The marriage didn't last, but the decision was right.

The only diamond solitaire I have today is a ring my grandfather bought for my grandmother after years of marriage. I wear it in memory of their love. I also have a circlet of tiny diamonds given to me by a friend who later died of a brain tumor; I wear it and if people think I am married, so what? It reminds me of her and of our friendship.

Jewelry is most beautiful when given with love. Greed can dull even a perfect emerald.

There is real life, there is television, and then there is FOX.
