Elmer, I can't believe you are that stoopid!

That puts them about 36% behind Intel's demo. I believe this may be the widest gap in history. AMD
has never been this far behind before.

Let's see. AMD will RELEASE Athlon north of 1GHZ in VOLUMN in 3 months (to be conservative). Intel will INTRODUCE Willy at 1.3 GHZ in LIMITED numbers (Otellini said slow than 1.49999999...GHZ at intro) in 8 months (to be aggressive).

If I borrow your stoopid "gap logic", it takes AMD less than 6 months to release Athlon from 500 to 850 in Fab25 ONLY. That's a little 70% speed gain:~) So six months after AMD releases Athlon at 1GHZ, AMD will release Athlon at 1.7 GHZ in volumn, when Intel will introduce a whopping 100,000s of willy at 1.3GHZ? 1.4GHZ? 1.5GHZ? ......

Your stoopid postings significantly discount the rational and informative postings by your fellow PB and Tench et al. You make me *ick. But I am trying to refrain from putting "ignore" button on you for now. Please behave like a man with *alls.

Regards,

panic_mob

Oh, it's been bad for ages. Don't forget that at the last IDF, when AMD "demo specials" were at 800MHZ, Intel demoed a 1GHZ part, and AMD is only just now shipping volume at 850MHZ - whereas Intel...

:-)

As usual, you show astonishing mental acumen, you place only slightly behind youseF, in my estimation.

DARBES

P.S. UUUUUUHHHH? Do you suppose that the fact that inteL was employing liquid nitrogen cooling and the AMD demo was at room temperature might have any bearing on what really was being demonstrated.
