Eric, good article about Compaq and Unisys. Good to see that alliance on 32 way.

This is good but I think the author has his Compaqs and Intels mixed up. The middle "Intel" should definitely say Compaq, the first, probably also Compaq:

Capellas' vision to push Intel to ever-greater heights in the computing
market isn't surprising, given Compaq's affinity for what it calls the
"industry-standard" computing philosophy. Intel sees a number of
competitors selling very similar computers, but invariably using Intel
CPUs and usually the Microsoft Windows operating system.

This is good:

Capellas also disagreed with a Gartner Group projection last week that about a quarter of
companies would experience some problem upgrading to Windows 2000.

"I do believe the rollout will be a lot smoother than Gartner Group indicated," he said.

Compaq still has Alpha plans, as well.
