I am in the market for a nice reflector telescope for hobby purposes... the kind with a mirror not long tube... can you recommend a nice one in the $150-300 range? Well in new 'scopes that price rules out brand names like Celestron and Meade. You might check out Orion at telescope.com The best "deals" come from looking in the classifieds. A lot of people get telescopes as gifts (Christmas presents etc.) and never take them out of the box. Thus 75% off is not unusual. Pick up a copy of Astronomy or Sky and Telescope magazine, decide what you want, and then watch those adds. Good luck! lurking... lurqer
