haqihana, I was just going to say that you probably wouldn't like my favorite, being on the other side of Red River, but then I saw you listed it. "Oklahoma". How could anyone feel bad watching Gordon McCrea, ride through the corn fields singing, "Oh what a beautiful morning"?

Well, I think I detect some affinities there. Of course, one should not overlook The Wizard of Oz as a great movie musical, and there have been good productions of The Music Man, Carousel, Fiddler on the Roof, and other top Broadway shows.......By the way, On the Town and West Side Story had the same composer: Leonard Bernstein.....
