Lucretius, one can usually make a mint going long the stock index futures the very moment you pronounce that the crash has just begun. If Greenspan can pull off a soft landing as he did in 94, watch out: Your going to see Dow 36,000 in 2004-2005. It happens to be a very real possibility.

I'm watching Gold closely here. I'm not sure how it is going to do it, but if the POG can continue to hold and consolidate above $300 till the next BOE auction in March, we can see a technical explosion to the upside with the POG challenging the 93 highs. The XAU would go ballistic. It is nice to dream. But I would wait till the last BOE auction before making any big bets. Gold needs to hold & consolidate above $300 here for the next 5 weeks. I'm sceptical but stranger things have happened.
