I have been reading Dorsey's book on P&F. Very good intro, IMO. Are there any other sources you recommend?

jorj....didn't intend to infer that p+f is outdated.

still a good tool for basic investment strategy when used in conjunction with fundamentals of the company. comment was meant to indicate how narrow the market becomes on an ever changing base of momentum companies. with options investing, point and figure best applies to simple long term call or put buys as it can give a probability of long term trend, as providing you factor in underlying fundamentals. it can at times be lacking in a fast moving stock as the decisions to enter must be made at times on intraday swings...

if you examine a stochastic, at times you will see a contradiction in that an overbought stock, can increase in price as it becomes oversold(this has to do with accumulation and distribution)....just look at recent price action of atml. one should not always conclude overbought means stock goes down, and oversold goes up....many factors including intimacy of the underlying and its current market perception must be added to the mix, to get the probability of direction on your side

thanks as always..ed
