However - I think Intel has already produced functional FOSTER silicon - Willamettes with a a lot larger L2 cache than
the "plain-vanilla" Willamette.


These should continue Intel's dominance of the mid range server market, no doubt, when they come out. The good results from HP today, on top of IBM's last 2 quarters reporting ONLY Netfinity servers improving in sales for them, now Compaq showing continued allegiance, all are adding up to Intel being able to count on that market. Foster might just move Intel up into the higher end also, with it's power.
