Bob - the analyst targets, estimates and ratings, however much we may criticize, do provide some insight into the thinking on WS. One thing that I was interested to see, is how often they'd raise estimates, sometimes even price targets, but rarely would they UPGRADE NITE. If you analyze what's behind it, I think one can see that they are in essense saying: "yea, NITE will earn good $, and we must raise estimates or we'll look like fools; some also say: probably investors will take this stock higher, so lets raise the price target; but lets not upgrade, because there is still a lot of risk in the stock on purely technical grounds (share overhang - something the ML analyst pointed out last year), and even on fundamental grounds we don't like unstable and unpredicatable revenue streams and profits that jump wildly from quarter to quarter". Basically, they are covering their butts on the performance front (since NITE will do bang-up business), but don't want to endorse it 100%, because they always prize predictable revenue models (one reason MSFT has "smoothed" their numbers until the SEC rapped their knuckles). And I think some are a bit nervous over the "long term" prospects, especially given how NITE is likely to perform in a bear (not correction) market; some are probably a little worried about competition and the continuously evolving marketplace for NITE. The careful analysis of their thinking can be very useful, which is why I think the idea of your site is awesome. Have you re-instated NITE? Please post the link to your site for the benefit of all readers here. It is not spam, but a truly useful site - and since we request it by popular demand, I'm sure SI will look the other way <ggg>.
