BANGALORE: After ERP on the Net, Wipro Net Ltd., has launched an online learning programme for corporates, offering computer courses on the Net. Based on the Lotus Learning Space Platform, the service will host premium courses on corporate training on private and public campuses, with the content offered by computer education provider, Aptech.

According to Sunita Joseph, Product Manager, in public campus, any individual person can become the member and can access the courses. The courses will be on e-commerce and management related courses. As of now, around 11 courses are offered each with 15-20 hours duration. Fees for each course will vary from Rs 2,000 to Rs 4,000. In private campus, company specific courses will be introduced. Giving an example, she said, "Suppose if IOCL wants to become a private campus member, we will introduce the courses according to the company's requirements and we will charge the company, not individual person."

Speaking about the advantages of online learning, Sunita Joseph, said, "In its unique role as campus manager, Wipro Net provides server management around the clock, 24-hour helpdesk for students, allows companies to create a private campus without the administrative bottlenecks. Online learning eliminates the conventional barriers of time and space across geographical boundaries."
