Have you had a tetanus shot within the last 10 years? If not, you should have one. That was a very scary event!

I absolutely agree that you need to report this incident to the police and the Humane Society, and that this dog needs to be put down immediately. There is no room for dogs that attack unprovoked in this world. It's a good thing it wasn't me that was bit, or I would have put the dog down myself.

Oh, Puna, that is awful! Those dogs never let go - you are lucky and quick thinking. I hope you have reported it - and that owner is liable. Pit bulls are dreadful dogs - made that way by humans of course, but they cannot be tolerated. Get that tetanus. Check that owner for rabies, too. Good luck.
