Harry, many moons ago I produced the marketing images for Coherent. Images of bouncing and splitting a ruby laser. The first problem was making the light visible using various particulates, the second was balancing the exposure of the light with a separate flash exposure of the products so that you could see both at the same level of intensity. The first task was a flashed picture at 1/10,000 of a sec, the same piece of film then took a 5 second exposure in a dark room to capture the laser winding among mirrors and prisms.

Gee! Had I known then... I would have asked to be paid in stock.
