Tensch Re..<<<hmaly, <What impact will Willy have, no matter how good it is, to the consumer market.>

It was exactly a year ago when people were wondering why they'd ever need a Pentium III 500 MHz, especially the AMD supporters out there.

But hey, no one needs anything more than the fastest AMD can achieve, right? >>>>

Looks like you Intel fudders are in denial. Name me one yr. in the last ten where the highest mhz chip (or mot expensive)in the x86 line ever sold more than 7% of the market, Intel or Amd. Most people can't afford the most expensive chip especially when paired with Rambus. Maybe you are rich enough so you wouldn't have to rob a bank to afford Willy and Rambus, but I am not.

<<<<It was exactly a year ago when people were wondering whether anyone would want to support SSE in Pentium III, especially the AMD supporters out there.

But hey, those x86-64 extensions in Sledgehammer are going to be an INSTANT hit with the software developers out there, just like those ever-popular "Athlon New Instructions." >>>>>>>>

Tensch you are getting delusional. I never mentioned sledgehammer. I know sledgehammer will be a great chip, just like Willy and athlon, but its just a chip. Quit getting your undies in a bunch. Just because Intel needs software rewrites to take advantage of Willys new sse instructions is not my fault, and quit blaming sledgehammer.
