Well, I approach things a little differently.

I wouldn't carry the car loan, since it's not tax deductible. The home loan is a smart decision.

Even so, I don't have a home loan. It's a matter of security. I work out of my house. I don't have a steady income. So I really don't like having high monthly bills.

Owning my home gives me a necessary base of security that allows me to continue doing what I want. (And avoid going back to work for anyone else.)

BTW: We held a little celebration tonight. JDSU, PMCS, and AMCC just allowed me to double my investments in a little over three months. (And I ain't talkin' chicken feed here, neither!)
