EP - <Do you know if they were air cooled? And were they from Intel's standard production process?>

Standard heat sink and fan I believe. They had the boxes in full view. They referred to the systems as products of regular 1GHz samples. I'm virtually certain they used a standard heat sink and fan configuration.

They didn't say anything specific about the process that I recall.

However, I read in one of the articles Paul posted yesterday that Dell confirmed that it was receiving 1GHz samples, and that Intel confirmed that Intel has been shipping Gigamine samples to Dell , HP , and IBM. One could assume that if Intel is indeed shipping Gigamine samples and publicizing it, the production process is either extremely close or already implemented.

Although I know what the above condition is, since Intel didn't comment specifically yesterday, that's all I feel comfortable saying at the moment.

I will say I think Paul is at least in jeopardy of losing his beer bet with Jeff. :-)
