LibertySurf said it acquired France's leading internet radio station Netradio for an undisclosed sum.

LibertySurf is 45 pct owned by the Kingfisher PLC and 40 pct owned by the Arnault group, the family holding company for LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton chairman Bernard Arnault.

Speaking at a multimedia conference, the company said the purchase is part of a strategy of acquisitions to enable it to offer internet surfers "an attractive and diversified content".

Netradio, which is currently broadcast on the internet and by satellite, will shortly be avaiable on all of LibertySurf's sites, the company said.

LibertySurf, a free internet service provider with 610,000 subscribers, recently acquired the French language search engine Nomade and the French language chatroom RESpublica.fr, which has 125,000 subscribers.

The company also purchased telecommunications operator AXS Telecom and bought a controlling stake in X-Stream, the UK's third biggest internet service provider.

LibertySurf is planning to float at least 20 pct of its own capital on the Paris bourse shortly.
