Even "died in the wool" bears have a hard time conceiving of the end of fiat dollar hegemony. This crosses the line of decorum as it shakes the psychological foundation of patriotism. But face it, the Greenspan experiment of abandoning moneterism until he sees the whites of the eyes of inflation in the name of a technology driven new productivity era has imperiled the system of faith. The classic European mindset which views the big picture of failing civilizations can smell the blood of Yankee comeupance. Tim
