Actually, Merlin would get them into such a mess that it would be a difficult task even for God to sort out. :)

Tekboy knows exactly how much I agree with you about the impossibility of consistently profitable short-term timing. He was only cracking a joke, knowing that I'm happy to be the source of everyone's entertainment, be it depricative or otherwise.

Heck, I don't even charge him a royalty. That's mostly because a guy named Gilder mentioned to me once that tekboy would only ignore it. :)

I never said Merlin claimed to be able to make short-term predictions on stock prices; obviously, he's far too wise to do such a thing. It was my recklessness in inferring that was the problem, not his recklessness in implying...

My point is simply that in this area, at least--well, in the humor area too, I guess--his modesty is not false... :0)
