Ted - re: "Intel, Sony to Form Electronics, Computer Alliance"

Thanks for the post.

The "Let's Make a Deal" game enters another round.

Re: Intel and Sony

Well I think this pretty much keeps AMD out of the Playstation business.

Maybe it will increase the likelyhood that MSFT will pick AMD Athlon over Intel chips.

The implication of this would be huge for AMD. The high end is still partially driven by gamers. If MSFT goes with Athlon, it would mean that every game that can derive any benefit from it would be optimized for 3DNow. It would be a suicide to publish a game that does not run well on the X-Box.

Ted,

I think this pretty much keeps AMD out of the Playstation business.

Playstation uses a MIPS instruction set processor, which Intel and AMD do not make.
