I found out that it is Innovex group, a private company, not the INVX in the disc drive business.

Seagate begins offering the first 15,000 rpm drive. I suppose if Innovex can retain them at this level of technology, it is a good sign for Innovex.

I had a chance to speak with people at Amkor yesterday. This is the big chip packaging company. They are testing, buying and planning for packaging of products from Innovex. When asked why this market has been so slow to take off, response was cost and fact that existing technologies got advanced further than people had planned. The value of flip chips needs to be in performance and that will only happen when chips have too many leads to bond. That is evolving.

They are pleased to have an Innovex office in Arizona via the AdFlex purchase. They thought INVX got AdFlex for a steal.

They think Innovex product is still too expensive. They could see increasing demand toward the end of the year, or not. It's not a clear play, but things are moving along and Innovex is a player when it does happen. Might be if you still think there's a value play here, it might turn out to be true.

On the other hand, just watching for any indication of success with flip chip will give you plenty of time to buy later and avoid keeping dead money in a company that could face further problems in HDD market.

Regards,

Mark
