More Bandwidth. If you need to occupy your mind over the next few days, read the article in the Jan 27 issue of Nature about FIR photons. It seems that a group at the University of Tokyo has made a nifty photon detector that can detect a single far-infrared photon using a single-electron transistor in the absence of any dark or noise current. This has never been done at these wavelengths. As this is an arena that Dr. Tsui works in, I'm sure he's discussing this with the engineers at MRVC. (Long long way from being a product). The ultimate in nanotechnology.
