KL, admittedly the issue of hedonic pricing is open to debate...i'll gladly post more on the subject tonight after trading.

as for the secular deflationary trend, i think a collapse of the tech stock bubble (the deflation proxy stocks) could be the immediate trigger for the onset of outright deflation, as billions in debt will go to money heaven. it will be interesting to see if the Fed would be able to once again print it's way out of such an event...my guess is not.

k, there are two ways to measure the impact of computers. increased revenues or increased profit margins minus all the other crap (options in place of wages, etc.). that is where the rubber hits the road.
