Siemens, 3Com, Newbridge Consider Listing for
Venture (Update1)
By Andrew Bulkeley

(Adds 3Com comment in 2nd paragraph.)

Munich, Feb. 17 (Bloomberg) -- Siemens AG, Europe's fourth-
largest mobile phone maker, and partners Newbridge Networks Corp.
and 3Com Corp. are considering listing their computer network
joint venture on a U.S. exchange to keep it competitive against
rivals such as Cisco Systems Inc. and Lucent Technologies Inc.,
the German Finanzen magazine reported in a preview of its March
edition, citing unidentified banking sources. The companies also
likely will exchange some of their own shares with each other as
part of the listing. ``The companies are talking intensively about
a share exchange,' the paper quoted an unidentified analyst as
saying.

3Com spokesman Brian Johnson said the report is false and the
company has no such joint venture.
