1.7X going from 8-way to 16-way (and I won't hold you to it) is excellent. Even 1.5 is good from my experience. These will be important architectural performance numbers to have when it comes to comparing Itanium, then McKinley 16 way, e.g., to Sun Ultrasparc III 16 way, or IBM S390. You also mentioned better RAS yesterday, I think it was. That doesn't hurt my feelings either.

The other thing I like is that this will be an Intel chipset, or hierarchy of chipsets? It seems that non-Intel chipsets that tried to get > 4 way, or > 8 way, didn't sell and, therefore, push the Intel based MP envelope.
