In the truest sense of the word, you are a real gentleman, Fred. It has been and continues to be a pleasure to know you through the board, if not in person.

May I speak for other lurkers and non-attendees who have been w/ VLNC for these past years in extending heart-felt congratulations to you, Fred.

Thanks for your devotion and exhuberance...

Best wishes on a full recovery of your assets as well!

(another)Fred
P.S.--May I suggest that you turn your attention to the OpticalNetworking segment...look at OPTC and ICOM...low caps that might do a VLNC...don't be discouraged by their recent moves...(assuming that your DD shows promise!) Also, might I suggest HIFN...VPN for the internet...

I am glad many of you finally had the opportunity of meeting Fred. I have been a passive lurker on this thread since Fred convinced me to purchase Valence almost 2 years ago, but his letter and other letters to or about him in the recent months have moved me to post this.

Months ago someone wrote that he may have been the only one to have ever met Fred face to face. I have known Fred since our freshman year in college some 35 years ago. We have shared a lot of good times and some bad times. Time has separated us and we live in opposite ends of the country now. However, Fred still remains a loyal and caring friend. During his recent crisis we have talked many times on the phone and I know how all of this has devastated him. He has shown a lot of personal courage and class for coming through everything so well. His last letter typifies his character.

Without Fred's hard work and encouragement I never would have profited as I have and I owe him much. The least I can do is to share some of my gain with him and this I promise. Fred, this is a public "thank you" and is to let those who don't know you as well as I what a wonderful person you are.

Best of everything to you,
MBH

Fred, I, too, could not be at the AM, but I wanted you to know that I owe my 3200 shares to your cheerleading and ongoing research. Thanks.

Fred:

Over the last two years I have learned a tremendous amount regarding the potential of Valence from following this discussion group. In particular, I am in your debt for your insightful analysis of the future earning potential of Valence. Based on what I have learned here, I have recommended Valence to friends and family -- many of whom have profited handsomely from investing in this company.

While I have never met you, I have a strong sense of your character from your posts. The manner in which you have dealt with your detractors and your loss speaks volumes about your character. Fortunate are those that have been able to know you personally. It distresses me to know that you have not been able share in our good fortune -- in so many ways we are are all profiting from your insights. I would like to encourage fellow posters on this thread to share their good fortune with Fred. If each of shares only a fraction of what we have earned we can quickly change Fred's financial fortunes. Personally, I am committing to sending Fred a cheque for $3000. Let's keep a running total and see how quickly we can bring a little sunshine to someone who has done so much for us. Can someone please share Fred's address with the thread so that we can know where to send our cheques. Best, Doug
