Next two posts: reprints of review articles on battery companies in general and VLNC in particular, written in July 1998 for a technology newsletter that I subscribed to.

I'm not taking a particular position on this issue; it just think maybe you will find the articles interesting.

One thing to ponder is whether VLNC's present efforts to go into production will fare better than their disastrous attempt in 1992-3, under different management.

Sam Smith - is a marketing consultant specializing in companies making the
transition from research and development to manufacturing. He has been
involved in batteries and electronics manufacturing for the past 12 years.
He was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Texas based
Electrosource, an advanced technology lead-acid battery company. He also
has worked over 10 years with the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency
(DARPA) on emerging technology issues in microelectronics.
