Yes, I typically decide ahead of time how much money I am willing to lose on each entry. As for selling, no, I often have a range or a target and once this target is reached, I reevaluate. In some core positions the stop loss is far from the current price but that is typically because I write call against these (like MRK where the stock is being killed, yet I keep making good money on the calls, but even in MRK, I have a SL of $58, which if it is breached on a closing basis, I'll be out).
