Most homes up here use oil..(If they're smart)

Normal oil prices up here average 80 to 90 cents per gallon. 1 gallon of oil will produce 140,000 btu's(british thermal unit) of heat. The equivalent 140,000 btu's of heat produced by gas costs about $1.68.

A British thermal Unit is: The amount of energy needed to raise the temperature of 1 pound of water 1 degree Fahrenheit.
