Hi KLP. See my post #16939 for origin of article. Although some interesting and worthwhile material appear on Yahoo/RB boards, most is trash, particularly on Yahoo. You are right about not wanting to wade through the junk to find the AU (with apologies to the redundantly named Auric Goldfinger). I would estimate that on some Yahoo boards, like CTCH and MCOM, 95% to 99% falls in the trash category. This is sad because the MCOM board once was a wellspring of useful information. The remaining 1% to 5% on MCOM is excellent, at times.

I did not post the introductory sentence of the article to vouch for its accuracy. I did so to squelch the rumor that GNET might acquire The Street.com in as sarcastic a manner as caution and good sense permitted.

One thing missing from the story is the fact that spammers are shut down and kicked off here on SI, but they run rampant on RB and Yahoo. If you removed all of the spam from RB and Yahoo, I would bet the numbers are much closer than the article leads you to believe.

And I'm not even talking about the foul language posts that result in immediate suspension here.
