opening an IPO "too high" is fine by me IF I'm holding IPO shares.. if not, then it's no fun because buying in the open market almost guarantees you a loss by eod..

too bad we cant short IPOs on day one.. the ones that open too high anyway.. etrade can never find the shares; funny though because they obviously have customers with the shares they just handed out the night before (assuming it's an IPO they offered like APRS and ELOQ).. yet when you try to short.. you can't... I've heard that you cant short a new issue within 30days.. but posts I've seen suggest otherwise
