ROCHESTER, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 18, 2000--NEW SKY
COMMUNICATIONS, INC. (OTCBB:NSKY) announced today that its
Movieplace.com Web site has acquired the rights to video interviews
with over 3,000 stars and celebrities conducted over the last 17 years
and that it will add them as a new feature to the Movieplace.com Web
site. New Sky also announced that the Movieplace.com Web site will
debut this week its "Movieplace Radio Hour," the Internet's only
regular streaming-audio program devoted exclusively to film news,
views, interviews and movie music.
New Sky also announced today that Movieplace.com has signed deals
with 16 newspapers, with a total circulation of 667,000, to run "Mike
@ The Movie Place," a new weekly newspaper column on film news
authored by Movieplace's own Mike Cidoni.
Carl R. Reynolds, President of New Sky said today, "We are
pleased to have acquired this library of interviews with stars and
celebrities. It continues our efforts to expand the content of
Movieplace in new and unique directions with the goal of attracting
new traffic to the Web site. Also, the promotion-for-content
arrangement with these 16 newspapers is another step in our continuing
effort to promote the Movieplace.com Web site and establish Movieplace
as a brand-name in the market. These arrangements will extend the
market for content from Movieplace and provide promotion for the Web
site."
Movieplace.com is a Web site featuring full video streaming
interviews with the stars of current films, a regular television
program, "The Critics," reviewing current film releases, movie music
videos, movie news, interactive audio message boards and financial
commentary focusing on the entertainment, media and Internet
industries.
New Sky also announced that, effective March 1, 2000, Movieplace
will establish an office in Los Angeles to be headed by Mike Cidoni,
which will allow him to develop and produce more exclusive features
for the Movieplace.com Web site.
New Sky Communications, Inc. is a producer of independent motion
pictures, including "FREAK TALKS ABOUT SEX" and the previously
released "LADY IN WHITE" and owns forty percent of the Movieplace.com
Web site.
