Ballmer reminds me of George W. Busch, two old frat boys that have been guided to positions of prominence through their connections and the status of others. Isn't Ballmer the poster child for every corporate "yes man?" He's great at motivating the sales force, but lacks the sophistication and intelligence to lead a corporation even 1/10,000 the size of Microsoft. If Gates ever lets him have any effective power, Sun definitely has a bright future. His comments this week about "going after" Sun only further bolsters the precise image that Sun has sought to create for itself. Ballmer permanently has his foot in his mouth. As a Sun shareholder, I'm so glad he's now purportedly managing Microsoft.

Maybe Steve Ballmer believes that the best defense is
an offensive remark. That would seem to fit M$FT's
P/R model pretty well...
