Re: "EP, such drama....who do you think is shell shocked? Certainly not I. Yes, I am concerned.......Intel is AMD's main competition but I have every confidence that AMD will mount a successful counter to the Willamette."

I guess you've been able to stay calm but you can hardly say that about the others. And as for AMD mounting a counter to Willamette, they are doing everything they can to stay a nose ahead of CuMine, and not for long I suspect. I think AMD shot their wad. Where are the claims that AMD can bring out faster chips any time they want to? Did you notice today's admission by AMD that they will hold off 1 GHz intro until there is sufficient volume? Translation: there isn't sufficient volume. Where is the Demo AMD has been holding back, waiting to trump Intel's IDF demos? Answer: AMD quietly slips away to lick their wounds. They counted on Intel screwing up and instead Intel blew everybody away. I think Scumbria's embarrassing episode last night speaks for itself. Further comment about a once respected contributor would be in poor taste. I remain embarrassed on his behalf. That's what I meant by shell shocked.
