I like to think that I have a fair amount of vision and a lot of faith.

However, stocks that are of a "holding company" flavor shall we say do not go into the DOW or S&P. If this were not the case, long before Berkshire Hathaway fell off the performance curve over the last 18 months it would have been added to one of those indexes. The point that you bring up is not new. It has been discussed on this thread on many occassions. A SUNW or AOL or a YHOO are well in front of any line to be added to the DOW before CMGI; it's not personal, it's just the way the street works. It's unlikely that MO will ever be added to the NDX either.
