RE: ATYT

I look forward to reading your report. I am a reformed vid card stock purchaser; I still am required to go to group counseling for my recovery. <g>

I am interested in the Sony partnership. Sony has had me thinking for a while now. The Playstation 2 sure looks to be a sure fire homerun. I wish Sony would spin off the Playstation group, I would love to see the G&K thread go to town on the merits of that King.

Since I brought it up....

The Playstation 2 will have support for DVD Movies, some form of web browsing, network support (not just dial-up modem, but Cable DSL support Read: Monthly Connection fees for recurring revenue). CD music with the MP3 decision yet to come.
The software support is simply incredible. The majority of top notch game developers have announced that they are not only porting games the PSXII but that many of them will be focusing on the PSXII because of the huge market that consoles have and the lack of wide spread piracy that is killing the PC game arena.

Sony gets a nice chunk of every game sold based on a royalty/license fee.

The unit is sleek enough for Dad to put in the living room entertainment center, cheap enough to buy it as a DVD alone.

The Pre Sales in Japan are astounding, Its 4:30am and I cannot remember the exact number so I will not risk getting it wrong, but I assure you its amazing.

Sony released a full-blown PR regarding the PSXII and its E-commerce potential. Sony has some big plans for this little device.

Again I look forward to your ATI report.
