If you think customer install can be achieved, you have a job waiting for you among the other losers at ATHM. You don't have a clue about the nature of installation. If you did, you wouldn't be making these fool observations. All you have to do is go out with a crew like I did and you'll see that this effort by MSO's or by any other cable company's part to push the burden substantially into the public's hands, isn't going to work. Even with wireless local drop transmission, one step attachable LNBs, and in-box receivers, there will still be needed someone to validate the setup. We won't discuss what happens when the usual wireless maintenance problems start cropping up.
