Bill what are you doing up so early, or late?, posting away like a man with a mission? -g- What do you know about the specifics of tobacco in PPI v CPI? CNBS is in the process of pre-release expectations management of CPI. They made the comment that CPI is going to be up with a significant portion due to retail tobacco price increases, and of course everyone should ignore that. Ok, retail tobacco is up. What the heck was down so significantly in the PPI tobacco just released (which of course CNBS said yesterday that everyone should take notice of as another sign that there is little inflation in this new pair-o-dimes)? Did the tobacco folks somewhere along the supply chain just get a boost in margins?
