But Ciena has already made one transition from legacy long haul DWDM systems to the next level by buying Lightera and Omnia (before Cisco's acquisition of Cerent for a huge sum and therefore did not have to pay an equivalent ransom.) My money is betting that they will make the next transition smoothly also... Nevertheless your point is valid and something worth close scrutiny. Regards
