Seppo,

I contacted a couple of well logging engineers to make sure I wasn't off base on this "moronic study". According to them,in our area of central Texas, the temperature gradient is 1 degree per 100 feet of depth. In a 1700' well that we recently drilled the bottom hole temp was 97 degrees and it would be expected that every 100 feet that the temperature would rise by 1 degree. The temperature of these rocks is dictated by the heat radiated from the core, and is NOT a product of the surface temperature. That's why I say the study is bullsh*t. It's just the media playing up global warming as kind of a religion in itself....imho of course...lol.
