thanks for the tips...i am going to look at a new cell phone and or modems to use with palm7 and laptop in USA and canada...any suggestions?

I look like I'm tacking to port all the time. I've probably got the lightest, bestest laptop in my Toshiba Portege, and I still hate lugging it. I currently use an HP Jornada palmtop with WinCE for road trips that are less than two or three days. It's a lot more clunky than a Palm, but I can get email from my home AND work accounts. Plus, I can browse SI and Yahoo more "naturally." I'm looking forward to your ultimate road-warrior review. Any time I can dump a few lbs. of batteries and power supplies, I'm all over it. buck
