Your right Joel,

I'm sorry, I'll never bring in a contrary opinion or less than rose-color story again. Please my excuse intrusion into your fantasy.

Joel,

FWIW, management identified internal IT dept.s and IBM as their chief competitors. A visit to IBM's website did not impress me. Very vague. I gather they offer a more customized solution. There are also products from Sterling Commerce and Germany's Brokat. Also some french company which seems to be able to win French business but not much else whose name I forget. Can't say I've demo'd any of 'em, though.

S1 has a significant start, but there has been and will be room for a number of players, particularly in the smaller bank markets. As for Wachovia, I agree that nepotism or something under the surface is causing this, because the gain from Corillian's software doesn't seem sufficient to offset the switching cost. If they keep reeling off big wins, then maybe S1 can get worried.

Also, the most recent version of S1's software was probably not the subject of that poll.

Cheers, Tuck
