Message #17212 from Peppe at Feb 18 2000 10:51AM

It's quite obvious this deal is done.

Can you believe the way the MMs are playing w/ this stock today ?

Great chance to get more, before the news on Tuesday.

Peppe: Its not Greenspan , or MM's causing the drop. It is simple market forces.

ALA dropped overseas indicating their Investors are not happy. There is no other explanation that can be justified. In a share swap deal this drop will result in ALA having to further increase its offer per share. I doubt a cash deal is in the works with increasing Interest rates.

I am also very surprised that ALA's Investment Bankers have not arranged to support ALA's stock price. This is often done thru their arbitrageur just before a deal is announced.

Based on take over stats of mature Companies, the average (repeat average) offer if it is a unprotected share swap is 28% higher or 17% for cash.Prices are based on one day before the offer. These stats are based on Auditor back office data.

Peppe --

The only factor with a question mark is the announcement date. If it's not done on Tuesday, I suspect Flynn will explain why.

And I agree the stock's being manipulated. CBOE pros at work.
