Boston Communications Group Announces Corporate Reorganization; Company Creates COO and CTO positions
WOBURN, Mass., Feb 8, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Boston Communications Group, Inc (NASDAQ: BCGI) today announced the creation of two new senior management positions - Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer. These newly created positions are designed to better enable the Company to respond more quickly and efficiently to customer needs and to be earlier to market with new products and services.
Telecom industry veteran Andy Price, age 46, has filled the position of Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Price has over 20 years experience in the wireless and Internet industries, most recently serving as the head of marketing for PSINet Europe. Prior to PSINet, he held Vice President positions at TeleCorp, the largest AT&T Wireless affiliate and Sprint PCS. As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Price will oversee all of BCGI's operating divisions, including Prepaid Services, Systems, Teleservices and Roaming Services, as well as the Company's Sales & Marketing unit.
Bill Wessman, age 50, BCGI's former Vice President, Implementation and Quality Assurance has been promoted to the position of Chief Technology Officer. In this role, Mr. Wessman will assume responsibility for all BCGI technical areas, including Corporate Engineering and Development, Network Engineering and Operations, Quality Assurance and the Company's new Corporate Information Technology Group. He has been employed with BCGI for almost five years, during which time he has held several senior-level positions managing large and complex operational areas.
The Company also announced that Kevin Thigpen, Vice President and General Manager of the Company's Prepaid Services Division will be resigning to pursue other opportunities.
